Could you help a researcher with her work?
Having done a therapy dissertation, I am aware of how critical it is to get good interviewees. And how hard.
So I received this email from a researcher at Bangor University, one of the foremost centres of research into Mindfulness.
If you feel that you fit the bill, please contact her directly. You need to have been practising mindfulness and meditation.

Dear Mr. Appleton,
I am a Master's student at Bangor University and in my final year of study. For my thesis, I am conducting a research project. The research project title is: Mindfulness and Meditation, Pathways to Insight, and Wise Choices. I am contacting you to ask if it may be possible for you, through your network, to assist with recruiting volunteers to take part in this study.
The research study covers three key areas of practice. Firstly, how and why people initially engage with the practices, what supports people in keeping their practice alive, and finally, exploring the wider effects of long-term practice. To take part, volunteers need to have 10 years or more of sustained practice experience.
Participation involves attending an online interview with the researcher, which will last no longer than an hour. This interview will be recorded and transcribed. The transcript will be anonymised and combined with interview information from other participants. Once all the interviews have concluded, I will look for patterns and themes in the data.
For your reference, I have attached a copy of the recruitment adverts. Please contact me if you would like more information. This research has been given approval by Bangor University Research Ethics Committee, reference number 1281.
Should you be able to assist with recruiting volunteers, I would like to invite any potential volunteers to contact me directly. This is my email address:mnd22cbs@bangor.ac.uk. Or participants may sign up using the QR code in the advert or via this link. Participant Information and Consent Form – Fill in form
If you would like to confirm that I am a Master’s student at Bangor University, please contact my Supervisor, Dr Gemma Griffith, by email atg.m.griffith@bangor.ac.uk.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email. I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
Amanda Stroud
