Recent webinars on self-regulation and Middle East conflict (separate topics!)

Hi everyone. In my day job I run monthly webinars for the community I serve - people and organisations working across civil society and on positive social impact globally.

We've been focusing on collaboration the last couple of months and it struck me that the topics we've covered and speakers we've featured might interest this community - each month for a very different reason....

In August, we invited Colombian anthropologist, mindfulness teacher, and somatic practitioner Paula Ramírez Diazgranados, to talk about the importance of self-regulation in order to collaborate better with others. She is an amazing person who does a lot of work with UN agencies and NGOs who have frontline workers in warzones and humanitarian crises around the world. You should be able to watch back the recording below:

August 2026 Keynote: The Inner Conditions for Collective Action

On a completely different note, earlier this month, we invited the three Co-Directors of the Middle East Treaty Organisation (METO) to talk to us about how they collaborate while the world around them is trying to tear them apart. They are an Iranian, Emad Kiyaei, an Israeli, Sharon Dolev, and a Jordanian, Lina Arafat - all working together on peace and human rights in the Middle East. If you are exhausted at the relentless pessimism of the news cycle right now and could do with hearing some voices of reason and positivity in the region, I recommend giving the below a watch 😊 It was really a beautiful conversation - the first 20 minutes is a bit techincal as they give their perspectives on the current situation, but the final 40 minutes is a much more human conversation about love, humour, and hope ❤️

September 2026 Keynote: Shared Purpose in a Divided World

If you can't spare the full hour, there are a couple of 5-minute clips below that give you a taste of the conversation: Emad was responding to a question I asked about the personal cost of the work they do and how they keep going - his response was so powerful, eloquent and inspiring. Sharon was responding to a question about how they deal with disagreements - I 'loved' how she brought in the importance of love (and humour!).
