- Holy IsleDans Sharing Space15 October 2022Thank you folks. As you can imagine, it was a great week, with superb teachings, delicious food, interesting weather (mostly kind), lots of rainbows and a full moon. A robin flew into the Peace Hall and landed on Alistair's head and a seal popped up close in to shore when I was out on a walk and stared straight at me for ages. Teachers come in all forms. Go well 🙏43

- Lama Thubten Yeshe on practicing togetherDans Sharing Space·14 June 2022“Gathering together with other practitioners and concentrating our minds into the same space gives us great inspiration. It's much better than just doing a puja alone in our own rooms. In my college at Sera, we compare group puja to a straw broom. You can't sweep much floor with just one straw, but when many straws are gathered together to make a broom, you can quickly clean an entire assembly hall. Though distinguished pacitioners such as Milarepa successfully practiced alone, we're not ready for that yet. It's good that we come together to develop single-pointedness of mind. One hundred people's minds all meeting at the same place become very powerful. “ from “Becoming Vajrasattva” p.149 And we have a chance to practice together this weekend… https://www.mind-springs.org/event-details/summer-online-retreat4340
- Life SkillsDans Sharing Space·12 May 2024Life Skills Let’s give our next generation the Life skills we need that we don’t learn at school. The difference between an Opinion and Fact. The emotions we feel and how you control and understand them. Relationships and how to maintain good ones. Self-belief and building resilience. Acceptance of what is - but not seeing it as a block to what it can be. Allowing grief to follow its natural journey whatever the type of loss. Following your passions in the path of your career in life not the route others think you should follow. Always have ambition to do well in Life but not rebuffing ourselves if we don’t reach our goals And finally, most importantly, learn and experience the benefit of immersing yourself in Nature. Away from electronic equipment. Be it by the sea, in the forest, by a river, or up a mountain. As the old saying goes - this is not a rehearsal-Live your life to the full. Respect others -and live in harmony with one another Angela Winbolt4340

- Thursday practiceDans Sharing Space·20 April 2023Lovely early morning practice ( in my PJs ) this morning. Rachel mentioned the quiet part of the practice and Jane mentioned mantras. This brought back fond memories, for me, of the earlier "corona comfort "days which the original gang members will remember. We used to have a 'Satsang' evening session where we joined Alistair and Daniel ( and Ben ) for a silent sit. The only sound would be A and D chanting , beautifully, while Daniel played the shruti box...blissful. I always used this time to practice whatever we had been learning that particular week. Unfortunately, being on a Friday evening, it wasn't a good time, for many, Too near to planned weekend activities but it had all the ingredients that Rachel and Jane spoke of. Happy , happy memories,🧡🙏4265
- I'm coming to Edinburgh in NovemberDans Sharing Space·28 April 2023Hello everyone, I wanted to post on here before it goes on general sale, but I'm coming up to EDINBURGH this November. A number of people were frustrated at not being able to get to London for the Tapping into Freedom course, so I'm running it again for my November weekend at the Salisbury Centre. It's the 18-19th November. We're in the lovely light Studio Room upstairs at the Centre so there's space for about 25-30 people. If you're a Baobab member you get a 15% discount. But just to warn you that in previous years these courses do get booked up. There is also concessionary rates and if you're struggling financially but would like to come, please drop me a line. Hope to see some of my Scottish friends up there - or just come up and make a long weekend of it. Edinburgh is such a grand place. Ax4245
- Cleaning the Receptors for LoveDans Alistair Clips·22 June 2023We are three weeks into our Thursday exploration of imagination/creation practice. Ultimately we are heading towards the visualisation of the Buddha of Compassion, Chenrezig. But in today's session we were looking at 'benefactors' from our own life that we can resurrect imaginatively, in order to sensitise ourselves to the feeling of being loved and appreciated. This is not without difficulties - and we discussed some of those in a question from Zana today.4255
