That is a magnificent poem - and it reminds me that I should load some more poems onto the blog. She's a master of seeming so effortless and conversational but being so wonderfully crafted. "Plush", "slippery" and of course. "resplendently empty" all shine out in a strangeness that makes it really zing. I have slept out a couple of time here in Sussex (not accidently, and not in a field of flowers) and that waking moment with the morning light "just slipping /in front of the stars" is a magical time.
