- Critical thoughtsIn Questions & Answers15 May 2022Hi Alistair, thanks, so much, for this. I'm apt to believe that my intrusive thoughts are conditioned to how my day has been or how I perceive it might pan out. If I rise to a happy sounding household, then my thoughts are quieter ,during meditation. However, if I rise to a gloomy and angry household, my thoughts seem to reflect that. Even news bulletins will hang around in my thoughts and then come out to play when I'm meditating but I'm going to try welcoming them in, gradually, and see what happens. This will be a work in progress, a toughy, and it may take some time but I'll do my best.😇🙏2

- Liking and not likingIn Sharing Space28 January 2025Yes! I feel the same way. Simply noting it as “liking” and “not liking” feels quite revolutionary. There’s no “I” story that hangs on. It often flies through double speed. And I don’t hang on to “liking” or kick against “not liking”. Vedana becomes threaded through everything. When it’s a ‘foundation of mindfulness’, I see it everywhere on so many micro and macro levels. And, as the refrain has it, always coming and going, and therefore no ground for clinging.20
